OZONE Rapido 3

Ozone Rapido 3 speedflying wing hardly need any description! It’s probably one of the most popular models these days, and not because of aggressive marketing. Mega-fun to fly, as stable as it gets, reliable, intuitive. Great wing for the real big mountain flying even in challenging conditions and terrain! We have been flying it since the Rapido 2 (Rapidos) was released and it’s hard to imagine how it could get better. Well, there’s R3x speedwing… 😉
Made of durable fabric, unsheathed lines (sheathed lines available as an option), comfortable safe risers and toggles.

 

Ozone Rapido 3 main characteristics

In our opinion this speedflying wing is a top of a universal classical summer speedwing evolution. R3 was mostly made for flying without skis but also works great for easy speedriding on the relatively open terrain. The main disadvantage of this wing for speedriding is the long lines. It gives some twisting effect (when the skier is already turning but the wing stays at the previous direction) in turns and a bit more delay between the inputs and reactions. However longer lines gives us better line tension distribution on the sides of the wing. It leads to better performance especially on high speeds in and after 360 turns and also for swooping.

Improvements over the previous generation Rapi-Dos speedwing are not huge but you definitely can feel them. Lighter wing construction gives you a bit faster reactions and less inertness. Thin unsheathed lines reduce drag and you are getting better glide (especially on high speeds with big wingloads).

This speedwing will give a lot of fun for the experienced pilots with big wingloads. Also in bigger sizes it’s a great option for beginner speedflyers as a first wing after the speedflying school.
